Privacy Policy

boothe.io is the personal website of Eric Boothe: a blog, a portfolio, and a few in-browser demos. This policy explains what the site does and doesn't collect. The short version is that it collects almost nothing.
What this site collects
The site has no accounts, no sign-up, no comments, no newsletter, and no contact forms. It does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not use third-party analytics or tracking pixels.
The only data associated with your visit is the standard information any web server receives when it serves a page:
- your IP address,
- the URL you requested and the referring page, if any,
- your browser's user-agent string and request headers,
- the date and time of the request.
This information is processed by the hosting provider (Cloudflare) as part of serving the site, protecting it from abuse, and producing aggregate traffic statistics. I do not combine it with any other data or use it to identify individual visitors.
Local storage on your device
The site remembers a few preferences in your own browser so that pages look
the same from one visit to the next, for example your light/dark theme choice
and the state of in-browser demos. That data is stored with
localStorage and a first-party theme cookie. It
never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time through your
browser settings.
Third-party services
Pages load web fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser sends a request (including your IP address) to Google when a page loads. Google's handling of those requests is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Links to external sites (GitHub, portfolio companies, and so on) are governed by those sites' own policies.
OAuth applications
I also build small Google OAuth applications for my own personal automation. They access only my own Google account data and are not intended for other users. See the App Terms for details. Any data those applications handle is treated according to this policy: it is not sold, shared, or used for advertising.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
